Founder Howard Bright began his career in the pest control industry in 1983. After working for several companies in sales and service, Bright received his Florida state certification in General Household Pest Control in March of 1987. A year later he opened Anti-Pesto. Originally specializing in residential and commercial pest control, Anti-Pesto began treating for termites in 1994 shortly after Bright received his Termite Control certification. The company grew rapidly from that point forward. In 1997 Bright received his final two certifications in Lawn and Ornamental and Fumigation.
In 1997, Howard traveled to an industry seminar, where he met renowned Industry consultant Lloyd Smigel. Several weeks later Bright hired Smigel to advise and improve Anti-Pesto.
Late in 1998, after working with Bright over a year, Smigel offered to buy into the company. Bright accepted.
Smigel, career in pest management began with Truly Nolen, where he held positions as a saleman, sales manager, Branch Manager, District Manager, Regional Manager and finally Truly Nolen’s first National Training Director. Smigel left Truly Nolen in 19 and formed Care Management a consulting firm to the pest control industry. Smigel has literally been in hundreds of pest control offices across the US which brings Anti-Pesto cutting edge information as well as the latest industry trends.
He is a columnist for Pest Control Magazine as well as the author of the industry’s first and currently only management book, “Bug Man to Business Man”
Since Howard and Lloyd have worked together, Anti-Pesto has grown from 2 employees to 15. Anti-Pesto’s reputation within the industry is well respected both locally as well as nationally.
