Mosquitoes: A Little Water Goes a Long Way
Mosquitoes don’t need a pond to reproduce. Some can develop in an amount of standing water small enough to fit inside a bottle cap.
After repeated rain, water can collect in places homeowners rarely notice: a folded tarp, a child’s toy, a clogged gutter, a plant saucer, an overturned trash-can lid, or the base of a patio umbrella.
The CDC recommends emptying and scrubbing, turning over, covering, or discarding water-holding items once a week. Checking your property after each round of rain can remove potential breeding sites before the next generation emerges.
If mosquitoes remain heavy after you address standing water, the problem may involve adult resting areas, hidden breeding sites, drainage conditions, or activity from nearby properties. That’s when professional mosquito reduction can be especially useful.
Cockroaches: More Time to Find Their Way Inside

- Damaged screens or daylight showing beneath exterior doors

- Unsealed pet food, birdseed, pantry goods, or garbage
